Yes, but you need more hardware, a metadata controller, fibre channel switch, dedicated GigE network plus Xsan licences for each client.
There’s been a lot of info on the Xsan forum here on the Cow.

I’d go Decklink HD Pro and a 5.6TB Xserve Raid – we’re all going to go Xsan eventually!
I agree with the Wacom however I’ve got a Logic keybord. The new HD Tekronix WVR7100 scope would be nice, if a bit pricey. (Paul where’s the plugin???)
Genelec for audio and don’t forget a BVM Grade 1, the 24E widescreen if you’ve got the money, my 20″ does fine though.

So nobody is stocking Motion 1 anymore? The UK store says 4-6 weeks for Motion2, but if you are after M1 then you will probably have to pay for the upgrade later. Apart from the Replicator, there is not a huge difference in M2 if you are not running Tiger.
Have you tried ringing round all the non-Apple, Apple dealers?

I use Martin Baker’s DH box plugin, it works fantastically and the maths to use it is really simple.

Always try to black a digi with the internal black & silence generators in the machine.
Besides that you can edit and stripe a tape at the same time!

Well, Motion 2 supports float under Tiger so it could be promising.
I think with the FCP roundtripping, Shake will be a pretty powerful & fast CC tool – When you have set up a script properly with concatenating CC nodes, Shake speeds through the renders.
If I knew more about macros, I’d write a “three wheel” emulator to keep telecine guys happy!
