    Hi,

The only plug-ins that have been tested with RED 5 in the Sony Vegas Pro host in our labs and are known to operate as expected are BCC 7 and FEC 5.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

    Hi,

Is this something that has just recently started to happen? If so, then what is different about the system … new font perhaps? Is it only with projects of a certain size? I’d suggest you get in touch with one of our support gurus who might be able to offer you some assistance in sleuthing the error.

You can reach them via email at support@borisfx.com

    Cheers,

    Peter.

July 15, 2011 at 7:37 pm in reply to: BCC7 Extrude Text in Vegas 10.0e

    Hi,

You might want to open the Illustrator file (In Adobe Illustrator) and make sure that all of the text has been converted to outlines. If this is the case then make sure that letters like o, d, e etc are using compound paths for the inner circle. And make sure that you save the file out in Illustrator 8 format – this is very important.

    I hope this helps.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

    Hi,

This filter has not been tested with RED 5 but if you want to try that, you will need to place the filter here:

    64 bit:
    c\Program FIles\Boris FX, Inc\BorisPlugins5Common64

    32 bit
    c\Program FIles\Boris FX, Inc\BorisPlugins5Common32

    I hope this helps,

    Peter.

  • Hi Jean-Luc,

Launch the BCC OFX installer and select the custom option. Then instruct the installer to place the plug-ins here:

    For x64
    C:Program FilesSonyVegas 10.0OFX Video Plug-Ins

    For x32
    C:Program Files x86SonyVegas 10.0OFX Video Plug-Ins

    • Restart the system
    • Launch Vegas and make sure that the plug-ins work
    • Launch Fusion

Please let us know how this works for you.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

  • Hi Jean-Luc,

To answer your question, yes, it is possible to have the BCC OFX and BCC AE products installed on the same system without conflict. This has been tested in our labs and works.

We believe there might be a way for us to work around the issue with Fusion not launching after installing BCC OFX into Vegas. We will have more info shortly.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

  • Hi Jean-Luc,

Thanks for trying that and getting back to me with your results. At this stage, I can only pass this on to our support crew and have them open up a technical support case so that we can have engineering look to see why this is happening.

One thought that comes to mind is I wonder what would happen if you had Vegas installed on a second drive, not the same drive as the Fusion drive … would that solve the problem? It’s a long shot but might be something worth trying.

I’ll pass this on to support – they may have other ideas worth trying.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

Hmmm … I’m surprised that you are having that result. I’ll have someone here take a look at that. Meanwhile, you can open the project directly from the Desktop in the application by dragging it onto the application icon.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

July 8, 2011 at 12:12 pm in reply to: RED 5 Auto-Save disabled?

    Hi,

First launch the RED Engine. Then go to the preferences panel and enable the autosave function. You can click on the field where it shows the interval between saves and set it to any value that you like. Then close the RED Engine.

    Cheers,

    Peter.
