Yes, we expect to release Continuum 2021 FxPlug with support for FCP and Motion in the next couple of weeks. If you are interested in the pre-release beta program please let me know.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

    Hi Stewart,

There is indeed a plan to add an export function that would enable users to render directly out of the Particle Illusion GUI, regardless of whether the product is being used in plug-in or standalone mode. We’ve been talking about this for a while and hope to add it to the product later this year (2020).

    Cheers,
    Peter.

    Hi there,

Yep, I believe you’ve encountered a limitation in RED but not to worry – you can use multiple text pages to get around the problem. So paste as much as you can onto a single page, then paste the rest onto additional pages. The Title Crawl automation should seamlessly join the text pages into the title animation.

    Cheers,
    Peter.

    Hi,

You can achieve this result back in AE … after you have applied the tracking data from Mocha AE to the target layer, which you do in the AE Effects Controls panel, you can select keyframes (some or all) in the AE timeline for the target layer and then set them to ease by Control+Clicking on the visible keyframes, then selecting Keyframe Assistant and Easy Ease from the pop-up menu.

    Cheers,
    Peter.

    Hi there!

Glad to see that you figured that out! You can use either a mask or a matte to generate the result that you need, which is adding alpha channel transparency to the source shot. I would recommend trying the BCC PixelChooser to help with that process – essentially, you apply the BCC PixelChooser to the source shot, and in the filters Mask group you can generate animated geometric mask shapes with a soft feathered edge, or you can use some of the built-in animatable vignette tools in the Matte section.

You can find more info on that here :

    Peter.

Hi there! So while removing the tracking marker from some frames will be very easy, some of the frames where the curtain is swept aside will prove to be more of a challenge. Here’s a link to some video tutorials for Mocha Pro :

    https://borisfx.com/videos/?tags=category:Mocha%20TV&search=

If you don’t find enough information here to guide you through the track and remove process, please let me know ([email protected]) and we will help you solve the shot.

    Cheers,
    Peter.

    Hi Rob,

WIthout more information it isn’t really possible for us to offer a solution to the problem. If you would like to reach out to me directly and send me the project we can review it and provide you with the correct steps to achieve the expected result. You can reach me at [email protected].

    Cheers,
    Peter.

    Hi There,

Sorry to hear that you’re disappointed with your purchase – we try to be as transparent as possible with regard to our host support and in that regard, we publically list host support for the major features in the Continuum. You can view the support chart here :

    https://borisfx.com/products/host-compatibility/

As you can see from this list, several filters in Continuum, including Primatte Studio and Particle Illusion, are not available for the Apple FCPX and Motion hosts.

Motion tracking with Mocha is integrated into BCC Particle Illusion – emitters and the scene camera can be tracked independently. No need to purchase Mocha as a separate product to track in Particle Illusion. 🙂
