Hi Angie,
It’s a supported feature and it should have worked … I’m at a loss to explain why the titles were not transferred. You might want to check in with our support team to see if they can help you with this. You can reach them via email or phone:

April 9, 2012 at 1:29 pm in reply to: Bcc8 text extruder not interacting w/ 3d layers?Hi Maha,
Hmmm … well when I need a camera to rotate around a scene that includes BCC 3D Objects and AE 3D layers, I find that I can use the split layer command on the 3D layers and move them vertically in the comp stack so that the scene appears to work visually as the camera orbits the objects. If the camera is in front of the 3D Object then the AE 3D layer is below the 3D Object layer in the comp – if the camera is behind the 3D Object then the AE 3D layer is above it in the comp.
I’d very much like to hear of your experience with Echospace.
Cheers,
Peter.

April 6, 2012 at 1:51 pm in reply to: Bcc8 text extruder not interacting w/ 3d layers?Hi Maha,
The BCC 3D Objects will indeed interact with 3D layers in After Effects and can they use the AE camera and lighting system, however, you cannot intersect a 3D Object with another layer. Can you describe the effect that you are trying to create? There are a few compositing tricks that you can use which might solve the problem for you but before I offer any more advice on this I need to know more about the result you are trying to create.
You mention that the 3D Text object that you created does not appear to accurately interact with 3D layers in your comp … can you offer some more detail on that so that we might better understand what you are seeing? In the BCC Extruded Text filter, you will find a parameter in the Transformations group which is labelled “Match Pos Z to Comp” … have you tried enabling this option to see if it improves the result?
Cheers,
Peter.

Hi Eric,
This is the first time that I’ve heard of such a problem with using Title 3D in FCP so I don’t have any first hand knowledge that I can fall back on which might have solved the issue for you. With that, I’d like to suggest that you contact someone in our support group who can help you with this. You can reach them via email or phone:

Hi Bryon,
On the system where you have installed RED 5, go to the Applications folder – in there you will find a folder titled Boris RED 5.0. WIthin that folder you should find a folder titled Documentation. This is where all of the doc files for RED 5 are stored on your system. You should be able to read these without going on-line.
Can you give that a shot to see if it works for you?
Thanks,
Peter.

Hi Bryon,
I’ve tried several different browsers on multiple platforms and the links are working fine for me. I’m not sure why your experience is different. We do not have a pdf version of the RED 5 on-line docs but if it’s only a particular section then we can make that for you and send it along. Would that work for you?
Or, and perhaps better yet, if you have RED 5 installed then the very same documentation will be available to you from under the Help menu in RED. This is stored locally on your system so there should be no need to be on-line to retrieve it.
I hope this helps.
Thanks,
Peter.

Hi,
Hmmm … I wonder if that was some kind of temporary glitch or a server overload … I just checked the page and the links appears to be fully functional. Can you please try it again from your side to see if it’s working for you?
Thanks,
Peter.

Hi Shaunie,
I suspect the problem is with applying the optical flow filter to a trimmed clip. Precomp the clip in After Effects before you apply the optical flow filter and you should get the results that you were expecting.
I hope this helps.

It should show up after the installation … did you use the correct installer for that host? I ask because Vegas is offered in both 32 and 64 bit versions and you’ll need to use the corresponding RED 5 installer in order for the plugins to be seen by the host.
If you are sure that you’ve used the correct installer for that host version, then you should get in touch with our support guys. They can help you resolve the issue in short order. You can reach them via phone or email here:
