Hi,

You can access the 3 Way Color Grade filter in Sony Vegas Pro through the Boris RED interface, but not directly as a Vegas native plug-in. Hopefully we’ll be able to offer that with a future update but at this time if you need to use that filter in Vegas then you’ll have to use it via Boris RED.

After the filter has completed the clip analysis, you should see a stabilized result and an improvement on the original unfiltered clip. Which of the three stabilization options have you selected? I would suggest trying Translation+Rotation+Zoom for a total lock-down. If you have not already done so, can you try this?

Hi Tim,

The BCC filters which are in the 3D Objects category (and the BCC Extruded EPS filter is one of them) are indeed using the GPU. There are a few more filters in BCC 8 which are also hardware accelerated, such as the Glint, Glitter, Glare, LED, Lightning etc but the majority of the filters in the package are CPU based.

Hi Mark,

Here are a couple of tips on using the built-in motion tracker in BCC filters in Premiere Pro:

• set the viewer window to 100 percent
• set the playback to full
• set the viewer to display both fields
• make sure that you are the start of the clip in the timeline
• make sure the tracker search is large enough to encompass motion of the object from frame to frame
• make sure that the tracker target is locked onto an unobscured area of high contrast

It may be that the application (RED) is displaying the wrong error message for this problem.

Does the name of the file that you are trying to import include the .jpg suffix? If not you might try changing that and reattempting to import the image. How big is the image (pixel dimensions?) Are you on Win or Mac? Also, are you using the 32 bit or the 64 bit version of RED 5?

If you use Boris Transfer FCP software to move the project sequence from FCP into MC or from MC into FCP, effects and timing changes are preserved, which makes it easy to continue the edit process even after the transfer. If, for instance, your client doesn’t like a color treatment that you made using one of the BCC filters they can modify (or remove) the color treatment themselves as long as they have the corresponding BCC filter installed on their system.
