Sorry for the confusion Duke. I now understand what your referring to unfortunately I’m not seeing the issue though. That definitely sounds like you got the software into a bad state. Trashing prefs or reinstall might be the other option that I could think of.

Here’s a link to a screen recording that shows how Premiere is working for me using version 9.2. I personally like using my mouse wheel or trackpad to scroll in and resize the Timeline.

Try the following. Place your mouse over the track header for the layer you want to resize. Once you mouse is over the track, scroll up and down using your mouse wheel or trackpad to expend or decrease the size. You can hold down the Cmd (Mac) or Ctrl (PC) key as your doing it to make smaller increments. See the attached image for where you want to place your mouse. Let us know how that goes.

All assets in your project will have a label applied by default. You’ll noticed that Premiere applies labels per format. So all video assets will have the ‘Iris’ label, stills ‘Lavender’ and music ‘Forest’ etc…

You can change the label on any specific asset or group of assets but again all assets will have a label.

Here’s good workflow for how the users from Rocket Stock user labels. Hope this is helpful! If you feel that having a label is affecting your workflow please file a feature request and explain why. Thanks!

Instead of simply choosing a color for certain types of footage, I like to physically name each category before I begin color labeling. Instead of setting this to default, I like using my colors to tell me what type of footage or audio is in the timeline. This is, of course, secondary to organizing your footage once you import it into your project.”

Hi Karen,

There’s no way to remove a label from an asset in Premiere. As you discovered you can only edit the color and label name.

Try going to Preferences > Trim. Make sure that “Allow Selection tool to choose Roll and Ripple trims without modifier key” is enabled.

Hi Mark,

I don’t foresee you having any issues. We’ve done quite a bit of work in CC 2015 to reduce project sizes. There’s a few things that can cause the project size to increase, Warp Stabilizer, Mask tracking, and Master clip LUTs but even in those cases the application remains stable.
