    Well, I think that I’ve been spoiled by my G5, I just can’t believe that I edited on this G4 for 3 years. It is so painstakinly slow and the losing frames. unsynced audio/videojust makes it little more than a websurferor iTunes player. Thanks, I will heed your advice.

    Brian, I just discovered “Compressor”.
    How is it different fron the “export using Qt conversion” option?
    What do you suggest for files that need to be played on Windows Media players?

    I do my VOs via my playback deck. With the mike connected to the camera, FCP set to “uncontrollable device” and Capture Now. Set your capure setting to audio only if you wish.

    Charlie , I had same problem, last week, I just put the 2 clips on different layers and used the keyframes tp manually dissolve to and from.

    Ive also posted this question many times and never recieved a reply.
    Thought I must be he only FCP user that cannot play to tape or print to tape, even playing straight off the timeline it sticks

    audio video capture not synced, capture freezes video but audio continues.
    using fcp4.5 capturing via FW, into an internal 7200rpm drive. Mac G4 Dual proc with 1.5 gs ram. Doing batch capture.

    p.s.
    yes the capture drive is NOT the system drive.
