No one else has had this problem?

audio video capture not synced, capture freezes video but audio continues.
using fcp4.5 capturing via FW, into an internal 7200rpm drive. Mac G4 Dual proc with 1.5 gs ram. Doing batch capture.
    any tips?

Here’s the rule of thumb with digital video capturing:

The slower your drives and the longer the clip you are capturing, the more succeptible you are to receive dropped frames. Capture Now exacerbates this issue.

    Try these things:

My original post includes that I use an Internal Drive that runs at 7200rpm. I also posted that I use BATCH capture.
I have tried various machines for importing, sony vx2000, pd150, jvc GyDv500, Sony DSR30,SONY DSR-1800, No Bananas, tho, I know where I could put one for some smartass posters. Excuse my shortness but I am on a deadline and this forum has always been helpfull and professional and a response like that does no good.
    Thanx in advance.

Yes I folo all your suggestions to the letter.
I run a G5 also and I have no problems there.
The G4 gives all the problems thats why I bought the G5, just trying to get it to run semi well.
Ive maxed out the RAM and ALL i use is sata 7200rpm drives.
    thanks again

Sorry…I thought a little humor would help. Even professionals joke around…

How about repairing permissions on all your drives? Then maybe tossing the FCP preferences to see if that clears things up. You can download FCP Rescue from here for free:

Yes but that post does not tell us if it is the boot drive you are recording to, which you should not be…
Or a second internal 7200 rpm hard drive used just for capturing and playback of media.
Nor do you tell us how full the drive is.

    Hi,

You did not post that you are using batch capture.

    Best Wishes,

    p.s.
yes the capture drive is NOT the system drive.
