Tape Trouble, Check VTR. Running FCP 5.1. With Kona LHe in G5 Quad with 2.5 gb ram.

Drives are running over 225 on reads and writes. Internal drive runs around 45 or so. All scratch disks are set to the 225+ drives.

    DV captures fine from camera.

I can’t capture from DVC pro deck with DV tape via component for more than 25 seconds to 3 minutes to the Kona LHe card. Get the Tape Trouble, Check VTR from FCP.

Deck works fine with other editing machines. Time code isn’t broken. IT just stops and thinks it’s at the end of the tape or something. No reports of drop frames.

Have tried ignoring dropped frames and that doesn’t help. Have run it and the deck with and without house sync.

Also running ATTO SCSI 5d card.

    Help….. Help….. Help….

Have you tried capturing using non-controllable device?

I get this every once in a while with our SD93 (DV50). I just hit okay and keep retrying. Supposedly FCP changes the way it polls the decks and supposedly AJA has a fix for it, so contact them and they will get you a driver to fix it.

if you have an older Panasonic DVCPro VTR, you will need a software patch from AJA.
You MUST call AJA support to get it.

Problem solved. AJA sent me a plug in for FCP for reducing polling and it worked. It was called DiableAltETTPolling.txt

    Thanks for help
