I’ve tried right clicking on the app icon in the applications folder and there isn’t an option to set as default…can you be a little more specific as to where i need to look

what graphics card do you have installed? performance for FXplug is dependent on GPU, the better the Graphics card, the better FXplug performance

even better they have just the filter i was looking for called DH widesafe…a really great plugin which even includes BBC/EBU specs for those of us residing in the old empire!

it’s double the price of the other DH filters so I imagine it must be popular…but they are still a steal for the price!

the problem im having with DVDSP is that no matter what i try to author i get the bit rate too high error….even when i reduce the bit rate to 1…ive tried trashing DVDSP prefs, so i’m a bit baffled there.

exported the QT ref from a 16:9 sequence in FCP, the QT is indeed 16:9 but shows up as a squished horizontally 4:3 pillar boxed movie.

check you are running QT 7.1.3….if you dont have that installed the update won’t show as it is a requirement. I’m holding tight till i get the go ahead from capture card provider BMD.

QT 7.1.3 is required, check if you have that up to date and then recheck software update.

I’m waiting till Blackmagic gives the go ahead before upgrading.

unfortunately the facelight plugin didnt do the job as it only creates a highlight rather than a cutout to view the layer below. it does have the XY controls i was after however. I know this effect must be simple to achieve in FCP, my brain is in freeze mode!
