September 26, 2006 at 8:53 pmOnce again you can’t download the package and update from the package. You have to update through friggin’ Software Update. That means every machine has to connect to the Internet and download and update from the net. Could this be more of a pain. How incredibly, stupidly, inconsiderate. Once again we have to move machines, connect to the net, do them in batches so we don’t choke the pipe, just because we can’t download the package, populate the machines and install them from there.
When will Apple get a clue.
All the best,
Tom

September 26, 2006 at 9:09 pmI dunno, does this not do what you need?

I’m not at my Mac and I haven’t tried that yet, so it may not be what you need. But it looks like it might be.

September 26, 2006 at 9:20 pm[Shane Ross] “Full XDCAM support, MPEG IMX support.”
What does this mean? Does it makes any difference for XDCAM SD or is it only for XDCAM HD (the 35mb VBR format I guess).
I whish Apple spoke a bit more in detail of the updates…

September 26, 2006 at 9:26 pmoh, forget about it… I opened software updates and clicked on more information and got a detailed PDF. Quite an update for a x.x.1 increment.

September 26, 2006 at 9:41 pmThat’s what I usually do for most applications. In FCP you download the package, run the installer, and it says you can’t update from this package, you have to use Software Update. FCP’s been doing this for a while, and it sucks.
All the best,
Tom
