    hey there

just making a client approval disc with idvd 6 and the issue is that no matter what i do the dvd will not burn a true 16:9 image to disc….the template menu appears 16:9, but my 16:9 QT movie is displayed as a squished 4:3 pillar box image…..how can i get idvd to display my 16:9 movies correctly?

having issues with DVDSP at the moment so thats why i’m using iDVD.

    thanks

Well…. what issues are you having with DVDSP?

Personally, I don’t like iDVD because it doesn’t do a very polished job and has ways of making things difficult for the user. If you are using standard templates that one thing, but customizing can be difficult at best with iDVD.

Have checked to see that your project is in 16:9? Have you checked to see if your quicktime file is really 16:9? Sounds to me that it is not. Where did you create this quicktime file? FCP?

the problem im having with DVDSP is that no matter what i try to author i get the bit rate too high error….even when i reduce the bit rate to 1…ive tried trashing DVDSP prefs, so i’m a bit baffled there.

exported the QT ref from a 16:9 sequence in FCP, the QT is indeed 16:9 but shows up as a squished horizontally 4:3 pillar boxed movie.
