the conform is only necessary if going back out to XDXAM discs? so if you were going out to tape the conform would be unnecessary – is that correct?

    thanks

for weddings check out the digital juice editors tool kit for weddings – they have plenty of transitions, wipes, elements and animations that would fit in with your kind of work

Not everyone wanting to use music from their itunes library is wanting to “steal” music…..there are legitimate uses for this.

I often will use a song from itunes as a guidetrack that will later be replaced with specially commissioned music that follows a similar tempo or style.

Let’s not jump to the conclusion that anyone wanting to know info like this is automatically a pirate!

soundtrack pro is your ticket. I had to remove a terrible earthing hum on an interview last week. the reduce noise feature in Soundtrack was just incredible….highlight the hum in the soundtrack pro timeline, go to process and select set noise print, then reduce noise….heaps of control to elimintate the hum.

the only downside is that you may experience some audio artifacts…these can mostly be fixed with EQ.

I too am in the log and capture camp…it’s just the way I prefer to work…there are plus’ and minus’ on both workflows.

Walter I think people are referring to your original “black and white” statement/command

Walter Biscardi: “You should never capture entire tapes. You log and capture what you need….. Nobody I know captures entire tapes for editing no matter what NLE they’re running.”

I think we all need to remember when we answer on the boards, it should be with the proviso that it’s our opinion or what works for us with the possiblity that there just might be a better way. ” Biscardi Creative” workflows might be great in Georgia, but they don’t necessarily work for everyone.

Let’s temper our replies with a little more grey…especially cow leaders (your voices are a little louder than the rest of us 🙂

several restarts and multiple trashing of boris and FCP prefs seems to have “fixed” this issue – until next time!
