Did you try the same ProRes files on PC?
ProRes Quicktime files are not optimized for Premiere.
When you match a ProRes clip to Sequence, Premiere creates a AVCHD timeline.This suggest there is no Native ProRes timeline in current Premiere.

Don’t install the BETA driver. That’s for FCPX
You do have output from the source because you have a wrong sequence!
Select NEW SEQUENCE
Select Sequence from the BLACKMAGIC FOLDER that matches your footage. -
I believe the XDCAM EX presets in Premiere are for the Native MP4 files.
But you have the Quicktime files right?
Try create sequence from clip.
Right click on clip.Premiere Mac 5.5 isn’t finished yet with Quicktime ProRes or EX or whatever files.

Latest blackmagic driver?
You need to select a blackmagic timeline on startup. Then you will have output.
Dont think in codec timelines like in fcp. -
Soundtrack Pro has about 20 GB of samples in the Library/Audio
If you don’t use that, trash it.
Motion and DVD studio Pro also have big libraries 10GB each.
Garageband also has a pretty big sound libary.
Clean my Mac is a great little app for cleaning aswell.
That, and you need another harddrive.

This is the same with the AJA presets.
Choose the 24p Blackmagic preset, in same window go to sequence and change the framerate.
Then save as preset. -
So much crap is edited on FCP 7 & Media Composer.
Just go watch a 2011 Hollywood movie or MTV music video.

It’s a different way of thinking compared to FCP with I/O devices.
In Adobe the type of sequence determines the I/O.
In FCP , you have to match the Video Playback settings to whatever sequence you have.It’s a matter of choosing the proper Blackmagic or AJA Sequence in Premiere before editing.
This way i got it to work.
