What about the MODD & .MOFF files which are created my PMB can they be deleted as well?
Thanks in advance

Thanks for that reply.
Can I assume that if I were to render out small segments to M2TS & then reuse these segments in an extended project that the whole project should not need re compressed?
I could imaging wanting to do this with just possible tweaking of the audio once all clips are on time line. If I’m correct then only the audio will be re processed & not the video?
Thanks in advance

November 27, 2010 at 3:37 am in reply to: Renaming clips & displaying thumbnails in WindowsI have a friend who has these same problems but he is using Windows 7. He is seeing thumbnails in Windows Explorer OK for M2TS files presumably because he has PMB installed.
Another program that allows you to bulk rename files very quickly & easily is FreeCommander which is basically a smart version of Windows Explorer but can display 2 explorer screens at once & allows you to do bulk rename & if necessary move files.
It seams that then PMB imports clips from your camcorder it also creates MODD files for each clip. The problem is that we don’t know what the MODD files are for & if they have to be renamed as well. Does anyone know? Can the MODD files be ignored or deleted without consequences?
Thanks in advance

The video was shot on a Sony HDR XR550. The manual says it can record HD at the following settings.
HD FX,
HD FH,
HD HQ,
HD LP with 5.1 or
HD LP 2 channel.I can’t see in the manual what resolution or pixel ratios are used. It does say that the HD output can be set to Auto, 1080p,1080i,720p or 480p
Thanks in advance

October 27, 2010 at 12:07 am in reply to: Reduce interlace flicker requires recompresing file? The file was Pal 25fps. If DVD’s will only play a progressive file how do I select a 24P file & should it be able to play in any machine/media player?
Thanks in advance

The Vegas window just disappears from the screen. I’m running Windows 7 64 bit with an i7 920 processor & 6 GB ram. The HDD still has about 300GB free.
Thanks in advance

If you have seen my thread below you will see that you can easily get things not to work if you have some versions of Quicktime installed. I still haven’t gotten a solution to have Vegas display MOV files & getting iTunes to work while Quicktime is installed. Maybe the new iTunes 10 will work but why should I try it.

AS I said I now have version 7.6.2. installed. I clicked on my iTunes icon & now get the message that I need version 7.6.4 or later for iTunes to work. There must be some alternation solution to this because I had both the MOV clips working in Vegas & ITunes. Does anyone know what the work around is?
Thanks in advance

Thanks for that. I now have version 7.6.2 installed & once more the clips can again be seen. Could I have just uninstalled Quick time entirely & have the clips work?
It would be nice to think that one could just ignore all of these sites that try to push their way onto your machine because they are all supposedly essential to play your file It wouldn’t be so bad if they also didn’t also try to take over all file associations.
Thanks in advance
