Having rendered out my project as MPEG2 wide-screen transport stream I then decided to render it out again as an MPEG4 file. The reason for this was because few clips had been HD mov files along with a great many jpeg images, which are of higher resolution that the standard 720×576 Pal files. I used the same basic template I had before a had looked just fine when done before. These were Sony AVC MP4 set to best quality,2 pass, 1440×1080,progressive, pixel ratio 1.33 & B/R 10,000,000.

Each time I have tried to render this out Vegas shuts down after about doing 10% of file. The portion of the file that had been produced won’t play in either Windows Media player 12 or VLC player yet as I said previous files rendered out & played beautifully with the same settings. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance

How does it shut down? Error, hang, Blue Screen of Death?

I would first suspect not enough memory or not enough hard-disk. Since you have not added any system information in your profile, we can only guess.

The Vegas window just disappears from the screen. I’m running Windows 7 64 bit with an i7 920 processor & 6 GB ram. The HDD still has about 300GB free.

    Thanks in advance

Have you checked the task manager to make sure it’s really gone? It really sounds like a PC problem. If it were me, I would reinstall Vegas and try again.
