January 15, 2012 at 6:25 am in reply to: Where is option to what clip need to be re rendered?I can recall watching a project being rendered & as each clip was
being processed i said either that the clip was being copied or re
rendered. I already have the box ticked as per your post but I don’t see being told if it’s being re rendered or not. Thanks in advance

December 4, 2011 at 12:42 am in reply to: Display clips in Explorer in date taken sequence? Thanks for the answer. I thought that I should ask because if I go to Windows Explorer & click on the same clips & then ask for extra columns you can display dozens of extra columns of information including the time/date stamp, camera model, etc. Almost anything except GPS coordinates if you a camera that records that data as well.
Thanks in advance

December 3, 2011 at 9:37 pm in reply to: Display clips in Explorer in date taken sequence? When I click details I can then sort date in each column. What I’m seeing is the date imported from camera & I can sort that. What I’m after is the date clips were shot (details from camcorder, time date ) and being able to sort that.
Thanks in advance

Would the recoding to H264/AVCHD result is a significant drop of video quality?
If you can get about 3 hours of top HD quality onto a 25GB Blu-ray disk how much should I expect to get if the video is only 720×576? About 3 times more?
Thanks in advance

No I don’t see that screen at all. The only thing that I ever get to see is the screen that comes after that where every tool on the PC is Listed. The one that I want has been skipped over.
Since the require effects that I’m after aren’t displayed on the complete list I suspect that they have somehow been inadvertently been delete from the machine. Using CTRL & SHIFT as I open the program reset all of my preferences back to the default & still these tools are missing.
I’m see if it’s possible to just reinstall these tools which I expect are called plugins if not then I’ll just have to just completely reinstalling the program.
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the suggestion Mike but it didn’t help. When I click to delete everything that I don’t want they aren’t on the list instead I think I’m seeing all FX but not the basic one I was after. What I do see in that list are many from Compro & Cyberlink. I can’t recall seeing them before but they may have been there all the time.
In any event I may have to reinstall the program as they might have somehow been deleted. I was hoping that I didn’t have to do this. What do you think?
Thanks in advance

I have found another program that is very easy to both do bulk renaming of files & moving them from one location to another. It’s called FreeCommander & does many other things as well. It also allows you to rename other areas of possible interest. The only strange think I have encountered so far is that the program only is displaying about 95% of the thumbnails I see within the program even though I can see 100% in Explorer etc.

Normally I would never look at a program like PMB but instead just import new footage directly into Vegas. But when you have a new camcorder than can store many hours of video it seemed like a good idea to see if you can leave all of your best clips either complete or trimmed on its hard drive. You can delete & trim clips in the camcorder but its a tedious procedure. Whether or not you use PMB software to do this in camera I don’t know yet but if you could I’d like to try doing this to see if its worth the time involved.
I agree that using the camcorder as a back up tool isn’t such a good idea. What I did find was that when I was away shooting my latest holiday that some people asked us about other places we had been & I was able to show them since all the original clips from a previous trip was still on the camcorder.
PMB can quickly capture frames from video & do adjustments on them. It also can easily trim clips, as well as giving you a thumbnail & calendar index of all of your clips. And if you ever had your cameras time stamp date set incorrectly it allows you to do bulk changes.
But none of these things are going to be used unless you can do a bulk name changes to your clips.
Thanks in advance
