Thanks for that reply. When I mused that I might have been quicker if I just rendered each segment out for reuse into the final project I was thanking about rendering the segments as M2TS just like the original footage, so as not to loose any quality.
But thinking ahead, I have yet to burn my first Blu-Ray but if I wanted to do so could each segment still be rendered out for Blu-Ray or would this make things too difficult/impossible for DVDA?
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the advice but even after opening each veg file without problem I can’t get everything to open as one project. I have reduced the ram setting as well. When opening each veg file separately I noticed that one had an audio track names as Microsoft Sound Mapper. I’m not sure just what that is but this isn’t listed against the other veg files when they are open. Could this create problems? Does it matter that some veg files have more tracks than others?
Had I just rendered each segment out & then imported each new video file onto the timeline I would have spent less time on this. It’s making me ask what if any other advantages are there with using the nested veg files?
Thanks in advance

Thanks for that information. I finally have it working correctly. I’m surprised that the reset all didn’t include the saved layouts.
Thanks in advance

What does that mean?

Thank’s for that information. Unfortunately the reset didn’t do what I had hoped it would do. I opened an old project onto timeline but find that all I’m seeing is the master track nothing else. If I go near top of screen & get to horizontal bars & lift I can see that the preview window is dispaled. That’s fine until I click on a clip & then the preview window disapears again. Could the problem be saved screen layouts that didn’t get reset?
Thanks in advance

I’m doing file>import>media & then selecting a veg file & click open. One or the other of 2 things happens. The little twirling circle goes for a few seconds & stops or I see that the the program is builing peaks. In either case nothing happenns to the timeline. Only the original timeline data appears.
Maybe I should just do a reinstall of the program since I’m also having a display problem as well inasmuch as if I have have the cursor at the end of the timeline & double click the preview window disapears.
Thanks in advance

I would have liked to be able to just drag an another veg files onto the timeline immedieately after the end of the current project. I go to file>open tab select another veg file & drag it onto the timeline but nothing happens. Is there some special tecnique for doing this?
Thanks in advance

I tried to install the VideoWall today into Vegas 10 even though the installer says that it’s for versions 8 or 9. I selected 9 & pressed OK. I says that it installed OK but where do I find it? Should it be listed as a plug or what? I did a search with Windows 7 for the files mentioned above in this thread but can’t find any files called davitools .dll or png. How do I fix this?
Thanks in advance

February 15, 2012 at 8:06 am in reply to: Create both Blu-Ray & MPEG 2 SD disk from same projectI see what your saying but the program strikes me as being inconsistent. If I click to render out to mpeg2 & use the DVDA widescreen template & then look at custom tab I find find that the include audio is ticked. If I go to the template I mentioned in my post you will find that the include audio box is unticked. Since its so important to render the streams separately I would have thought that the render to box could automatically select to render the 2 streams separately but perhaps with the ability to override that settings since it seems capable of doing so.
Thanks in advance

February 14, 2012 at 6:40 am in reply to: Create both Blu-Ray & MPEG 2 SD disk from same projectThanks for the reply. There is one thing that surprises me since you say to render out the AC3 seperately. I have my camera produced M2TS files which Vegas properties says is are uses AC3 audio. I have got my settings set to match input files. When I go to render out it says save as Sony AV/MVC ((mp4,m2ts,avc) & the template has =AVCHD 1920×1080-50i. If I go to custom tab it tells be that audio is included.
I rendered out on clip & took it into DVDA & it says that the audio needs to be re rendered even though it was a template that was supposed to correspond to my original input. Why does the termplate include audio if you need to render seperatly I’m Puzzled.
Thanks in advance
