    Dear fellow Vegas users,

I just published a new extension for Vegas 8. It’s main purpose is to create a Video Wall effect. It is called DaviTools VideoWall and it is offered to the Vegas users community free of any charge and fully functional (no trial period, no limited functions).

    features are:

    – Visual creation of your Video Wall
    – Resize, reposition, rotate, etc.
    – Add Borders
    – Live update of changes on the preview window
    – Save and Load your projects
    – Quickly build Video Walls with presets

You are welcome to download this extension at: https://www.davitools.com

I look forward to receive any comments, suggestions or questions you may have.

    Have fun,

    David Pront

Hi David. It appears that this needs .Net 3.5 and Vegas supports .Net 3.0. I do not want to put any version of .Net on my system that is not officially supported by Sony. Any chance you can recompile this for .Net 3.0 and make it compatible with Sony’s requirements?

It looks nice on the web site but I won’t be trying it if I have to install a newer release of .Net than Sony recommends. IMHO, it’s really important to support the same platform as the host you are plugging into.

    Hello John,

I have found the problem and corrected it. The installer had 3.5 as prerequisite checked. The VideoWall extension itself was build for 2.0. I have put a new installer on the website. Thanks for letting me know this.

    David.

    Indeed David,
This is a handy little add-on for quick video walls. Saves time
when resizing & overlaying videos and fiddling with aspect ratios.
The interface is simple, pleasing and customizable…all good.
Has a nice little professional layout. Thank You

    Hi Steve,

I don’t have any fixed plans for other extensions yet. Do you have an suggestion?

    Hi Raquel,

The VideoWall works for Vegas 10 as well. The installer will not let you choose version 10, but if you install anyway you will find the VideoWall in the sony application data directory for your user account:

for windows 7 that would be:
    c:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Sony\Vegas Pro\[version]\Application Extensions

    The VideoWall files are:
    DaviTools VideoWall.dll and DaviTools VideoWall.png

Find these files and move or copy them to the equivalent Vegas 10 folder.

    Hope that helps,

    David
