I don’t have fcpx in front of m but if I make no mistake you can create an mp4 file using the “Apple device” setting. One of the submenus will give you the possibility to chose “Computer” and this creates a non .mov h264 file.

Could be a solution to your problem without goint to Compressor ?

It is not the best standard effect… Censor can be modified in Motion to add more feathering control and probably too to crop the blur.

Reminds me of the days offlining from interlaced masters or worst, transcoded masters, on an Avid where all you could display was a field…

when onlining one had to catch not only frames but sometimes fields gone astray…

You could create a Library for you favourite effects and transitions,with projects containing them, applied to generators simulating clips. This way the Library remains very light.

Creating an event that you would export as xml may sound better but because of current fcpxml limitations it would not register all parameters faithfully.

Well, let’s hope this one works because we never got to see the vizrt plugin for FCP7 work… (not that we got anything better from Harris either…)

When it comes to plugins it is wait and see for me; too many annoucements/promesses have led to disappointments.
