  • Path to Destinations settings

    Hi,

I am setting up 2 new Mac Pros and would like to copy FCPX 10.1.2 destinations settings from one to the other.

On my laptop under 10.9.4 I have two Libraries in the system, and at User level there is Applications Support > Pro Apps > Export Presets

On the new MP there is only one Library level and no such folder in App support…

Anybody know where to find it ?

    Thanks

    Patrice

[Patrice Freymond] “On the new MP there is only one Library level and no such folder in App support…

From the Finder, hold option, and choose the “Go” menu. You will see the user library at that point.

You’ll find the Applications Support > Compressor folder in there.

The other thing to do is to save all of your settings as a droplet (you can do this by selecting them all, right clicking, and choose “Save as Droplet”) right from Compressor.

Then on the other machine, drag that .app file in to the custom settings area of Compressor.

    Thanks Jeremy, this helps.

I am after FCPX’s presets in fact. I hope they are not tagged per machine so I can easily transfer them from one machine to the next.

    I’ll look into it.

    Thanks again,

    Patrice

It’s documented in the Developer docs.

Look Here under the heading “Custom Share Destination.”

I have no idea why I sent you to Compressor.

    Apologies!

    Thanks, Paul.

    I learned something today!

It’s as easy as dragging the destinations out of the pref window to the finder.

The destinations don’t seem to be stored in the file paths mentioned in the developer docs, though.
