Thanks for the suggestions. I am going to experiment with the FCPX-Resolve route, however I am going to pass on this particular gig. 5 days for what they want plus when I asked about the audio mix the answer was “We’re not looking for a full mix, just some stock music where needed!” Whole thing feels like trouble waiting to happen! Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should!

I’ve been getting the same error message. Similar specs but no adrenaline box. Happens on all 3 of our systems, but seems to only happen when bouncing in or out of trim mode, or trimming rapidly! This is s new thing since upgrading systems from 5.5 where it never happened!

Richard, sorry for the delay, I was out of town for a bit. My footsge was AMA’d Red Epic w/2 audio tracks and Diva audio files w/ 3 tracks. As mentioned, subclipping the audio tracks off of the AMA stuff worked, as did modifying the AMA’d clips to add ‘tape name’. The ‘modifying’ route allows me to do cards as opposed to individual clips so is therefor faster and I don’t believe will cause any issues down the road.

So if you want to ‘Autosync’ with the least amount of hassle and keystrokes/clicks ‘modifying’ and adding a ‘source’ appears to be quickest with the least harmful effects, Especially if you’re going to do a transcode anyhow.

Subclipping w/o audio does allow autosync to work, plus it does not reformat nor screw with the levels.

Modifying the clip to remove the audio tracks or modifying the clip to add a ‘Source’ also allows autosync to work, but reformats and screw up the levels. Setting source-side settings back to ‘Camera Metadata’ fixes the levels, but pix is still stretched, probably because 2.35:1 is not a recognized ‘format’ for Avid.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, Job.

I’ve been trting to but when I try to import into XDCAM Browser I keep getting “Failed to import the clip.”

Also tried exporting clips out of Premier to Avid DNx codec and ProRes, and tried Sorenson with DNx codec, resulting files will not come into respective programs.

    Basically a batch export.
Set your Export settings to what you want, making sure they are the active settings. Hilite all clips/sequences you want to export in a bin, drag them to a folder on your desktop and they start exporting. The benefit to this was not needing to hit ‘enter’ after each file was exported, the way you did if you just right click on a bunch of clips/sequences in a bin and chose ‘export’.
Could this be a Mac/PC thing, Just recently switched from PC MCv5.03 where I’m pretty sure it worked to a Mac MCv5.03 and it didn’t work. However I did notice that I didn’t have to ‘enter’ after each sequence was done.

  • Don’t know if it is related at all but worth a try. On 2 different systems I have to go in and toggle between Output settings to get rid of something similar. On one, using the Matrox mini I have to switch between RGB and YUV then back to RGB to get rid of green output. The other using Mojo SDI switching between Component then Composite, then back to component in the output settings gets rid of the purplish screen. Need to do this on each system after launching every project.

Export bin as a “tab delineated” txt file.

Not sure in 5.x but hiliting a bunch of clips/sequences and selecting ‘export’ used to require you to hit enter several times after each export. To avoid this, select your required ‘export’ settings in your Project settings, making sure it is the setting with the check mark, then hilite the clips/sequences you want to export then drag them to the folder you want to export to and go have a beer! You are actually dragging from MC to a folder in either Finder or Explorer.
