Noah, thanks for the response. Much appreciated.
P2 clips imported in 5.0.4 have trouble with 5.1 so for now, upgrading is not in the cards. We’ve been doing just fine with 5.0.4. We simply have too much going on right now in post to upgrade.
Yes, the Firestore can do 24P in terms of 59.94 with flagged frames. It’s not 24PN like it is with the P2 cards. So when I import the clips, I have to run the media through the frame rate converter to remove the duplicate frames and get my 23.98. Make sense? And, of course, after I’ve run the clip through the converter, I lose audio. I then have to take the audio from the 59.94 and sync it up with my new 23.98. This is my dilemma. A lot of work to get what I need.

Hey Jan, thanks for your input. I really value your opinion. You’ve helped me out before, just not on a forum. There’s about a $4000 difference between the Gates and the Equinox. Is that just a depth issue or is there more to it? If the Equinox is a good safe pracical unit and the D.P. can use all the buttons and rings alright, I just assume get that for $3000. Thanks.

June 23, 2006 at 6:35 pm in reply to: p2 AJ-SPD850 won’t mount to my Mac G5….Please help!We have a P2 Storage Hard Disk Unit AJ-PCS060. When we first got it, I couldn’t get it to mount, b/c it was setup for a PC. There’s some stupid little trick I had to do to switch it for a mac – press two buttons at the same time for 10 seconds type thing. Not sure that’s your problem, but it might be worth a look.

Alright, I think I owe everyone a big apology. I now feel like one of those guys on these forums who just wasted everybody’s time. That’s cause I did. The director put some numbers in the name of the CONTENTS folder. Ex: CONTENTS31. I thought the camera was doing that. He told me specifically he didn’t mess with any of the names. I’m so sorry to waste all of your time. Shane, especially, I really appreciate all your help. I wish I could take your out for beers. I’m so sorry.

Noah and Shane, thank you for your help. I might try creating my own txt file (doubt it will work), and I’ll also try upgrading to 5.1 on one of our systems here. Thanks again.

Yeah, thanks for all your help. I really appreciate it. All over a txt file. Are those top 6 digits the first clip in the next P2 when it rolls over. Those digits don’t match anything in the content folders. I’m just wondering what they are. It obviously seems to be pretty significant. Have you successfully imported clips without that txt file?
