Yeah, there are files in both. It seems like everything is as it should be other than the lastclip.txt file.

That’s what I did, and no it doesn’t. It says, “selected path does not contain a P2 volume.”

Hey Shane, I liked your video. It was clear and informative. Yes, I’m doing everything else right. I don’t have too much experience with this since this is only our second shoot with this as our #2 camera; however, the first time it worked great. This time, who ever was putting the footage on to the lacies didn’t do it correctly and thought that little txt file was insignificant. So now, I’m stuck, and even in your video, you specifically say you need that txt file to import. But then earlier in this thread you say you don’t. Any suggestions? Again, thanks for taking the time to help.

Folders in Contents folder: Audio, Clip, Icon, Proxy, Video, Voice. Shane, thanks for taking the time to help me out.

Shane, you’re right on. Doesn’t have that lastclip.txt file. Only the contents folder. Any suggestions?

Not a bonehead question at all. To be honest I’m not sure. They recommend pulling out its power chord from the AC outlet before plugging and unplugging the firewire, and also plugging in the 6 pin first. It’s odd. I also realized that this has suddenly happened because when we had them plugged in before, the firewire was going through an A/B switcher. We’ve been using them less and less, and have just started plugging them in and out directly to the computers when needed. So I would just take the precaution or before you know it, you’ll be out 3 decks like I am.

Thanks Paul, this helped put me on the right track. It seems that the DV board is fried in all of these decks. This happened because we were using the decks at different stations – plugging and unplugging – and evidently the wrong way. After calling Sony, it sounds like this isn’t a rare occurrence. We’ve just been plugging and unplugging the firewire without thinking about. What you do have to do, is plug into the CPU first, and then the deck. So the 6 pin first, 4 pin second. Doing it the other way could fry the DV board, and it seems this is exactly what we did. Darn.
Thanks again, Paul.

Thanks for the response, Debe. I appreciate it, unfortunately I have tried all of those things. Definitely a good thought though. Thanks again.

Thanks Bob. I appreciate your suggestions.
The problem with puting my sequence in a bin and making a batch capture log is that the sequence information is lost. I can get the ins and outs of the clip according to the original source material, but not the sequence ins and outs of the clip.
Yeah, that is the XML to text program I was referring to. It’ll be great when he’s done with it. He’s got a sure buyer here.
I’m going to look into automatic duck. Once again, its plugin is for FCP 4 and 4.5 so it’ll take me a bit longer to work with since we’re using 5 here. I’ll let you know. Couldn’t find anything at Sebsky.
Anyway, thanks again. I really appreciate your input.

Steve, the audio sync extra that Tony informs me of further up in the thread works just fine for me. And, I’m not using DV either, but actually, 720p24 and a 1200A deck just like you are. The fact that’s it’s DV, I’m guessing has little to do with it. It’s still the same concept. I’ve captured plenty of this Varicam footage and it seems to work fine. It’s not perfect. It’d be great if it would actually effect the quicktime clip, instead of just the clip within the project. If you import the clip into a new prject instead of copying and pasting, you’ll lose the offset. I hope this helps, and you give the DVX-100 audio sync offset another try. Curious about how you introduce into your work flow.
