That you all for the input.
Danny, I could not find the Topaz plugin for Avid. Only FCP and AE. Is is something where it’s not advertised, but works anyway with Avid?
We have an Avid MC 3.0 and Sony Vegas platform to work with.
Thanks again!

Okay, this is sorta what I imagined. Having worked in photoshop, I figured there would be a parallel to this.
On HD TV channels, you can definitely tell when something has been upconverted rather than shot on HD, but sometimes, it can be somewhat convincing, such as when they show some 80s flick that couldn’t have been shot in HD, and the quality looks much better than on its SD cousin channel. Especially noticeable with the perceived color depth.
I’ve played some DV files directly into a plasma and an LCD, and if you stand back at the “appropriate distance,” it doesn’t look half bad.
But, since you brought up specialized programs, do you have any suggestions, any software you have worked with in particular that you like for uprezing?
Thanks

CTRL+SHFT worked!
Thank you so much Edward.
Now I will not check the box again. It was slightly misleading for them to tell you that you could get that box back in the preferences.
Anyway, I can reset my prefs again. Not a huge deal
Thanks

I even selected the “Default All” option in the preferences, but that did not work.

Yeah, I thought I had read that message, but i couldn’t find it either. I tried searching a couple different ways, and couldn’t find an answer, I’ll keep looking. Thanks for the confirmation.

October 10, 2008 at 7:26 pm in reply to: Help – Trying to save project, imported under incorrect settingsYes I have all of the footage and it’s still in the same place.
That’s a lot of info, I hope I can follow those steps.Should I backup the project and media first? I don’t want to screw up and lose everything…
Thanks

October 10, 2008 at 6:04 pm in reply to: Help – Trying to save project, imported under incorrect settingsI think I’m just going to use “Resize” on this project. Not ideal, but it’s going to work, just exported a sequence and it looks fine.
But if there is another way, I would still like to know.
Thanks

Sorry for taking long to respond. thanks for the advice.
It took me a while to figure out the pan and scan tool, not very intuitive. but it worked out. resize is working just great for zooming in a little.
for some reason i can’t get the pan and scan to change the ease in & out settings, though. if i choose linear or constant, the image still eases. I am probably just not fluent in the filter yet, and am missing a necessary setting.
again, thanks, got the project out by deadline!

Did you try right-linking(or mac equivalent) on the items in the bin and select Relink… Make sure All drives are selected, or at least the one you are reading from.
Could it be the drive isn’t being recognize by Avid? Have you tried copying the files to the main drive of the MAC?
