    Hey,
I got a backed up copy of an Avid project from a PC. I’m not sure on what version of MC it was edited, it opens fine on my MC3.0 and OSX 10.4.11.
I need to relink the media but can’t find out how, I tired even importing back the P2 content files but I get an error trying that.
I’m not sure if it’s a compatability issue or something wrong with my workflow.
    any suggestions ?
    Rachel.

Are you getting a Media Offline message? Or is this something completely different?
There seem to be a couple issues here. It seems you have to transfer the Project folder, the Media Files folder (ie: Z:\Avid MediaFiles\MXF\1\files…) and then you sometimes also have to delete the two database files within the Media folder. then it seems Avid will just automagically recreate the links to the media files…here’s some other forums posts with more info.

    Hope that helps,

I read these before and did not find the answer I needed.
I do get a media offline message. I deleted these two files and Avid did not create them again.
The files don’t have a tape name and were “captured” from P2 cards.
    More ideas are still welcome,
    thanks.

Did you try right-linking(or mac equivalent) on the items in the bin and select Relink… Make sure All drives are selected, or at least the one you are reading from.

Could it be the drive isn’t being recognize by Avid? Have you tried copying the files to the main drive of the MAC?
