Check the presets that come with TP. there are several that use external geometry to create tubes/ funnels to direct your particles. Other than that you need to direct your particles using some of the various force fields which is a common thing to all particle systems.

Cameras can’t be “collapsed” (doesn’t make sense, anyways). Only the topmost composition can have an animatable camera, all other cameras will simply be ignored. You have to create all your animation inside the main comp.

You have to provide some info to what you are going to output (DVD, Flash, HD, custom formats) otherwise this is going nowhere. If I were in a particularly funny mood I’d be advising you to save out everything as 32 bpc, 4k HDR images but except for clogging your hard drives, it wouldn’t do you any good, if you get my meaning. ;O)

Yes, but it will still only run as a 32 bit app and use 3GB of RAM. Maybe the new Production Studio will be 64 bit native and break this limitation – hell, they are going back to Mac, so Win 64 should be in the game, too.

Get Particular from Trapcode. Use a Layer Grid emitter and set the sampling of the particles to “At Birth” This will stick the initial particle color to the particles and after that you can do anything with them. For more questions feel free to ask in the Trapcode forum.

Computers only know square pixels and unless the player software has a built-in aspect ratio correction (which Quicktime doesn’t), it will look squeezed. not to worry, it will look right on DVd.

Are you using collapse transformations/ continuously rasterize? Have all comps a proper 3D camera with identical settings?

Add a rectangular mask and apply the Stroke effect or simply use solids slightly larger than the footage and place them behind your other layers.
