No, AFAIK Mojo never works. It’s no standard OHCI device and dependent on certain custom code and control mechanisms which are only active, when XPress is launched.

January 9, 2007 at 7:23 pm in reply to: AE freez cause of fonts

    a) Your fonts are crap and contain bad contours (free fonts often do this).
    b) One of your fonts is damaged.
    c) Your Windows System is not correctly configured to handle foreign fonts. General language settings do matter since e.g. Asian fonts use different encodings.
    d) For Asian fonts you may even need to install AE in Japanese.

Check all the above. Either one or a combination of multiple problems might cause your trouble.

January 9, 2007 at 6:37 pm in reply to: using 1 texture across mulitple objects?

Group them and apply your material to the entire group. Use a flat projection and use Texture –> Fit to object. Include all sub-objects. Front & Backface usage is also a property of the texture tag itself. You can find all you need there.

  • Looks your files are being pre-multiplied against white (probably your composition background color?). Dunno if it’s an option, but you should try to export with straight Alpha to circumvent it.

I suggest that you find a plugin called Chamfer maker. It’s hosted on a Russian website and you need to register, but it’s free. You can then combine your branches and trunk using booleans aand throw it inside said object. It can automatically round/ blend edges based on a angel and creates perfect geometry that then can be smoothed further in a HyperNURBS. Another option might be fusionThing, a commercial plugin that will also blend different separate objects.

Dunno the specifics of the effect, but you may simply want to duplicate the layer and apply it in Add or Screen blendmode.

January 9, 2007 at 9:30 am in reply to: How do I calibrate my LCD computer monitors?

No, for video this is not really applicable. If you want to go for calibration, you need to get something that is specific for video/ film work like Northlight’s calibration systems for instance. Not only do you need to adjust the monitor, but you are also going to need LUTs for worki inside your edit suite or AE. Just creating a standard color profile as in print won’t help you much. Even for the print stuff you need to have a certified monitor like the ones from Ilyama, Eizo or Samsung that comply to the ISO specs required. Because of all that, the old method of calibrting everything by eye is probaly just as good and half as expensive.
