NTSC video for DVD is 720×480. Still with that and make sure you use 1.2 aspect ratio (widescreen) in and out of AE.
864X486 is what you use when making still picts with square pixels.

One area I have notice a huge increase in speed is with Compressor. It is twice at least twice as fast on my 8-core that with Tiger.

What codec are your graphics in? If they are all ready in the DV50 timeline you are not going to see any difference in placing the entire finished edit into a 10 bit sequence. If this is the case, save yourself the time and just output to tape from the dv50 sequence,
The only improvement would be if the video (without graphics) is brought into the 10 bit seq. and then the graphics are producer in that seq. or render from your graphics program as 10 bit.

I would stop fighting it in FCP and take everything to compressor. I would convert everything to a common codec like SD Pro Res, DVCPro50 or 10-bit Uncompressed. The DV footage will not benefit from this but the animation and the HD footage will compress a lot better when you go to DVD.
Compressor 3 does a great job with reordering field.

The understanding in that scenario is that they are not being used at the same time, which would be the same as 2 computers with the same s#, as long as they are not being used at the same time, which is why the network is checking.
More productivity should mean more money and the ability to buy another copy of FCS.

One other codec to consider is DVCPro50, it is a 1/3 of 8-Bit uncompressed and only double DV25. But what you gain is much better color space over DV25 (4:2:2 vs 4:1:1) So if she wants to do any color correcting it will be much smoother. DV50 is a real good compromise and you have a lot more HD options with the lighter bandwidth load also.
Note: If you use the Io with a MBP you need to get a eSATA express card and eSATA drives. The Io takes up the FW bandwidth. But Sonnet makes a card that use can hook up 10 drives since it has port multiplier slots.
This is a very doable workflow.

Actually going to 24P should be easier and cleaner than going to 29.97. there are conversion in Compressor and the audio should be better also.
I have never been happy with using FCP to convert anything so I use compressor and just plan for the time.
The other concern is field order PAL has upper on everything but PAL DV (I’m pretty sure about that)
All these things can add up and programs that have better algorithm tend to do a better/cleaner job, but in the end if you can do it within FCP and you and your clients are pleased with the results, I’m not saying it is the wrong way of doing it.

There is more to PAL/NTSC than frame rate, frame size and maybe field order. My recommendation would be to get Natress’s filter to convert it. It is reasonably priced and does a very good job.

This device has several critical settings, both on the camera and fs100 itself. If your settings are wrong your files will not work.
List your Record settings on the camera and all the settings on the FS100. You can get more hep if you list this info.

In your first post you said you Color Correct with a pro res timeline so seems like you are already in the pro res realm. But the IoHD can work with DVCProHD timelines anyway.
