There is a an Adjust Print Position under File, not sure if you could to set for that much but you can give it a try.

Stay with Verbatim and +R. When I find something that works I stop looking. there are reported issues with -Rs.

From what you have listed there doesn’t seem to be a good reason to go with anything other than a card. The Kona cards are great and have worked solid for years. (Don’t have Blackmagic cards so I cannot speak for them.) The Kona Cards also handles DVCProHD acceleration which is an added bonus. I think the IoHD makes sense if you want to be able to hook up different computers at different times or you need to be portable but for a single tower I would go with a Kona card.

If you only need it for Dbeta why not save some money and get a Io D, should be able to pick one up for around $900. These work great with the MBP to DBeta.

I just flew with 3 checked HVXs and they each had 2 batteries in the case and they went through Nashville and Miami airports. But like was mentioned it takes time to get things in place. It is getting to where it may be easier to just drive everywhere.
If anyone is wondering why this change, Lithium is a highly explosive element and most of the mass of the battery is there to keep it from doing so. (at least that is what my son, a chemist, tells me) But my question why is safer to carry it on then to check it.

You do realize that a lot of the formats you are trying are not compatible with DVDs. DVD are only m2v video (mpeg2) with PCM or ac3 audio.
If you use PCM audio you have to encode the m2v at 5 Mbps (average if using VBR) or 6.5 if you use ac3.
Concert DVDs are worth PCM audio if it has been professionally mixed and mastered but most of the time ac3 does just fine and it gives you extra bitrate for the video.
Either way you go, export to compressor from FCP and use the 90 Best for the encode if you want to do that but I would try making a new preset with the CBR setting at 6.5 and encode the audio to ac3 and see if you like what you see and hear.
I never recommend doing the encoding in DVDSP.

E, you must remember that just because an event is public that does not make images and video public domain. The person (or origination) that takes them holds the copyright unless they state otherwise. Most news channels sell there footage for a fee.
