I just saw a Frontline documentary called “Cheney’s Law” that used a lot of clips of government trials and speakers as well as a lot still imagery of Bush and the crew. Where do I go to find government stock of images and footage of speakers and other related public domain events? What’s the process of acquiring this footage and being able to use for a broadcast production with national distribution? For feature production and unlimited distribution?

    Thanks,
    Eric

This site is a good resource for still images. Most are in the public domain.

E, you must remember that just because an event is public that does not make images and video public domain. The person (or origination) that takes them holds the copyright unless they state otherwise. Most news channels sell there footage for a fee.
