One thought is to export an xml from Pr and bring that into Resolve. Do the proxys have the same name & timecode as the master /mxf files? If so just pre loading the full res should lead to a proper relink.

I haven’t tried V18beta yet but relinking and better management of file linking is a touted feature.

It’s been a couple of years since I downloaded and installed the sound effects library from BM. You might be missing the final step which from memory is to select the sound database on the Fairlight page. Best check the manual as there might also be a need to select the database on the projects database page which is now called Libraries. I haven’t delved into 18 so not sure.

  • Grabbing still on the Color page also grabs the grade data so those grades can be applied to other clips. The still is the reference frame the grade comes from so Resolve will always create the .drx files as they are the main point of the stills. How hard is it to sort by file extension and delete them?

Ripple delete is the easy way to delete files and ripple close the gaps in one action. There are a few ways to work out when and how to ripple. It’s the default action on the Cut page but can also be done on the edit page if you have the right mode selected or you use the keyboard delete key as opposed to the backspace.

Assuming the aspect ratio of the proxys is identical, the proxys you created should follow. However what are your settings for Image Scaling. Under Input Scaling you have 4 choices. Scale to fit, center crop no resizing, scale to fit and stretch to fit. Try changing those settings to see if it is something to do with those settings.

Middle mouse button ( the scroll button). Press in and drag around the zoomed in screen x & y

  • My take is simple. I’m shooting BRAW with BM cameras. I choose YRGB Color Managed and Wide Gamut but output Rec709. That way I am effectively able to come back to a project later and change the output to pretty much anything, knowing the gamut & color space before that final transform is greater than any current outputs.

Use the built in triangle left video transition between the two clips on the edit page. This wipe has a border you can size and color.

    Toolbox>Video Transitions>Triangle Left.

You can learn all the keyboard commands by going to the keyboard setup and searching for functions or just looking through the assigned shortcuts for each page in Resolve

Just hold shift and I or O and it jumps to mark in or out.

It’s simple job for the Fusion planar tracker and then using the corner pin mode. Casey Faris did a nice simple tutorial on this recently.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ws5MztaqvyE

He goes into more detail about tracking with objects getting in the way in the foreground but I don’t think this is your issue here. If you follow his guide through a basic track and corner pin you should have the solution to your problem. Fusion is scary and I am a bit hesitant but luckily people like Casey unpack it really well.
