I wish Blackmagic & Apple can sort the fact they won’t support each others RAW formats. Maybe BM are also worried about the RED patent but I don’t see why Apple are not implementing the BRAW format which seems to be free from the RED patent
You need to select the download for Resolve. The support page defaults to camera software which includes the BRAW. Click on the ‘Da Vinci Resolve & Fusion Software’ box and the options for downloading Resolve (Free) or Resolve Studio (Paid for version)
I’m applying macros by using Elgato Streamdeck. This controller is made of programmable buttons that have icons and can do multi functions like macros. I also purchased the icons and presets from SideshowFX – https://www.sideshowfx.net/ . I use it on all pages especially Fairlight. Hardware and software saves lots of time.
Have you seen Topaz AI software? It is actually quite amazing at up rez of SD material including getting rid of interlacing. Yes you can polish a turd but some software has a better go at it than others.
The power you need is in the GPU and the VRAM associated with the GPU. Check to make sure your machine is within recommended specs that Blackmagic publish on their support page
Have you set your power management on the iMac so that drives do not go to sleep ever? Sudden file disappearance will happen if you allow computers to snooze, especially drives
Voxengo make plugins in all the normal formats for DAWs. I use the VST3 versions in Fairlight running under Win10 OS and they work perfectly. They also come in AU format which should work on Mac OS. I’m pretty sure they work properly on both Win & Mac OS
I’ve not seen that sort of artifact but if you see it before render on the compounding then it will likely be in the final. It suggests you may not have the GPU processing required. Check you have the GPU power, VRAM and memory recommended
Audacity defaults to 32 bit float which is not what you want. Stick to 24 or 16 bit. If you want a much better batch SR converter then try this free one from Voxengo. https://www.voxengo.com/product/r8brain/
Also check out their plugins. I use their EQ and dynamics plugins a lot.
