Sound Effects Download
Hi! Complete beginner here with video editing. About a week in with learning the free version of Davinci 18. Have found some answers to questions on YouTube. But Google and YouTube don’t answer it all. After asking my brother too many questions he directed me here, haha. Could anyone possibly tell me how to download the free sound effect options? I went to the “Free Sound Library” and completed the download and installation instructions. I see that there is a file in my downloads called “BlackMagic Fairlight Sound Library”. Also, in my “Movies” file where the installation file was saved, there is a “Fairlight Sound Library” folder. And another window also opens that says “BlackMagic Proxy Generator Lite”. This window is black in color. However, all of these files lead to dead ends without anything in them and nothing has loaded to the Davinci program. Am I doing something wrong? (That is probably an obvious answer.) Thank you for the help and guidance.

It’s been a couple of years since I downloaded and installed the sound effects library from BM. You might be missing the final step which from memory is to select the sound database on the Fairlight page. Best check the manual as there might also be a need to select the database on the projects database page which is now called Libraries. I haven’t delved into 18 so not sure.
