If you select a clip in the BIN, try to go to TOOLS-remove advanced pulldown. This could do it if the L&T didn’t. See if it is accessible and if it removes the pulldown. You clip should then be listed as 23.98…if it was shot in 24p.

July 28, 2008 at 12:53 pm in reply to: how can i achieve an old movie / super 8 effect ?

Well, there are several “ingredients” to ass to your footage to make it look like 8mm.

First, you can use a stobe effect so that it looks like it has less frame per seconds

Than you can bring it in Color to desaturate and colirize or use a filter like Nattress Film effects with the “Old projector” preset or Magic Bullet LOOKS.

You can also add film burn and flare effects by compositing film burns for footage banks like those:

June 10, 2008 at 1:39 pm in reply to: Offline QT video from DPX

First, you’ll have to make a QT movie out of the DPX sequence. You can use Glutools or the DPXtoQuicktime tool that is free from AJA. It can make a standalone clip or a Quicktime reference movie (smaller). To make DV offline clips from them, you can use Compressor. If you want to add timecode, you can une Episode Pro which has the TCBI function for that purpose. Otherwise, you can lay you DPX quicktime in a DV sequence in FCP, add a Timecode Reader filter to it and then export with Compressor, Batch Export or Quicktime Movie.

Seems like I can’t find files used in Quicktime reference movies. Look at your scratch and render disk location. AJA upgrades often mess with the FCP preferences.

I’ve been working with the high rez matte for 2 month now and I love it. I have a glossy iMac at work and I find it is very annoying. If you plan to work outside or in cafes with your laptop, better go with the matte, you’ll save yourself some glare blocking time.

It already has RED support. You can play REDCODE and you now have a plugin for Log and Import on the RED website
