Yes but I would be missing the point of doing an offline editing. If I have to redo the job in the Flame. This is a major problem that should be look after. I’m fighting with project managers who want to offline on AVID because of somewhat basic but important issues like that.

I’m a diehard FCP user but I also know that Avid MC would do that without a glitch.

I found an online calculator to convert film footage length to time at Kodak:

and here is a great page resource page for all the “by hand” maths:

So you can add a LETTERBOX filter to the sequence and remove it after. Or you can by an aspect ration converter like a Pico Link by Miranda:

If you cut to the beat, make sure that the audio and video are out of the same source. If you look at the reference monitor, make sure that the audio doesn’t come out of the Mac output but out of you DV deck ou video interface like the video you reference to.

I called Kathy at AJA and she helped me disconnect the cables and offered to send me a new k3box the next day. AJA always gives great support.

I have the same problem. I plugged the male XLR connectors of my ADA4 in my new K3box and all 4 connectors are stuck. Got any luck or trick?

You can do an HD DVD authoring with DVD Studio Pro but you should post this in the DVDSP forum.

I don’t think so but you could do it in Compressor with the same result. The QT filters acan put a fade in and fade out to you clips.

March 5, 2008 at 4:03 pm in reply to: Editing HDV on Macbook pro-advise please

I just did 150 hours of DVCPRO HD 1080i ingest with a Macbook (not pro) on firewire 400 MyBook drives and it worked fine so I guess editing ProRes or HDV on a new Macbook Pro with a G-RAID or G-DRIVE in SATA wouldn’t be a problem at all.
