TL;DR The stuff in the trash was actually a trash can from my system backup drive (created by Carbon Copy Cloner). Removing the drive caused the trash to be empty. Will reformat the BU drive.

I have moved on to Louper.

Tried those suggestions to no avail. Lots of processes in Activity monitor. None really match. Will try to narrow it down.

Finally got a chance to upgrade(?) to Sequoia and it did not fix the problem. So bizarre. I have started in recovery mode and deleted the .Trash directory to no avail. When I start up, the trash is empty and then a few seconds later the folder(s) are back. I think it originally was a container.

Maybe. During the holiday mad rush on spots I had two major clients request that I not use Frame.io because of downtime issues during high pressure jobs so I moved on with those clients. I will still use for some, but that bridge has been broken for those two.

What is a bit weird to me is that you say “all the auto-saved projects are damaged”. That suggests to me that your PP installation is damaged, not the project.

Can you open other projects? (make a copy first).

If that works then the suggestion of importing timelines into a new project is a good suggestion.

Once again Frame.io is down.

“Users are currently experiencing issues logging in, and delays while using Frame.io. This includes loading projects, uploading files, opening player pages, playing videos on the player page, opening Review/Presentation pages, and posting comments.”

I had thought about that, but in the middle of too many projects to take that gamble.

(obviously not completely emptying trash is not a huge thing)

I uninstalled Premiere Pro Beta, but I can’t complete empty trash on Mac Studio running Sonoma.

I get “The operation can’t be completed because the item “_EveScripts” is in use.” error.

I have checked permissions. Tried delete immediately, started in recovery mode to turn off SIP. It won’t delete.

There was no response, eventually they said they rolled back a system.

No optical flow or frame blend. Just a simple speed change (no ramp). Timecode at edit point matches, and several frames match within the clip, just not everyone.

Noticeable without difference matte? Depends.

Over the years I have struggled with conforms between PP and Resolve as it relates to simple speed changes. (Edit in PP and colorist uses Resolve.)

But YoYatta can read TAR tapes (on Intel Macs) and we were able to do that.

But we discovered that putting LTO-5 tapes in our LTO-7 library had a tendency to wear out or clog the heads, so when we did use that method, we needed to have our library serviced.

Yes nesting is a workaround but I try to avoid nesting unless I really need it. (helps with other workflows, render time and dealing with various social resolutions and aspect ratios)

I only see this when I am placing a different resolution clip into the timeline. (lower or higher resolution)

(I know old post) but for people saying they never see this, it only happens if the clip is a different resolution than the timeline (UHD clip in an HD timeline). Yes nesting seems to be the only workaround.

Do this test. Sequence 1920×1080. Take a 4k clip and put it on the timeline. Then apply transform effect. Do a zoom from 200% to 50%. Render, all looks ok. The turn on motion blur in the transform effect. 180 shutter or greater. Then render. For some reason the image now is no longer centered. Has been this way for years.

With not one word on reliability. I’m sure it is still all running on the same wonky AWS haystack as before.

I wish it were just the early days with frame.io but it isn’t.

This reminds me of Vimeo days. Their upload/compression worked great until it didn’t. Many a time I was sitting for a few hours waiting for the file to finalize. 5 at night, 6, 7, 8…

I wish leadership at frame.io would make some sort of comment about reliability. Down in December, twice in January, twice in March. I hear from support but absolute silence from anyone in leadership.

What has been a bigger impact is that nobody says “cut” any more. Shooting ratios have gone sky high.

It’s not the Windows issue for me, I’m on a Mac Studio, it is getting ProRes RAW footage from clients.

I started on Avid then to FCP7 then to Premiere and then to Resolve. I still am on Premiere half the time for various reasons. A little frustrating jumping back and forth between the two because of the keyboard layout (yes I know I can change but prefer to keep them separate.)

If Mac, I have seen this before on a system I had to use on a project (that wasn’t mine) and permissions have been the culprit. Finally just moved all media into the Project folder.

One other thing to look at “ignore ownership on this volume” on the flash drive info screen. (Select the drive Command-I)

It should be noted that USB C is only referring to the connector’s form factor and not the speed. USB speed is referenced in numbers like USB 2.0, USB 3.0, USB 3.1 or 3.2 Gen 1, etc.

I have run into green frames in Twixtor but on Premiere Pro on Mac. I had to turn off (or on) GPU usage in Twixtor. Not sure it helps you but thought I would post.

Rather than using “preview” for renders, make sure the preview setting for your sequence is something like ProRes 422HQ (assuming Mac).

Render the sequence.

Then make sure you don’t see the error when playing the sequence.

Not an answer for you but…

1.) A thunderbolt 2 to 3 adaptor won’t work with the TTap?

2.) Are you editing 4K or actually UHD?

Rendering a AE comp 9×16 ProRes 4444 with alpha on Intel Mac. Looks fine on the Intel Mac.

Bring the file into M1 Studio and there is a vertical black line in the alpha channel that shouldn’t be there. (Render that same AE comp on an M1 and the line is not there.)

Is not a problem with 16×9.

Check folder permissions — also is “another drive” set to ignore ownership.

I have seen this be a problem with proxies having to reconnect each time and it was a permissions problem.

I have struggled with one project with new PP not as big but slow to load and sometimes even failed.

One thing to try is open a new project (empty) then import the old project by using import function and point to old project file and select the “entire project” option on the popup.

I have had this problem in the past. One thing I do now (although messy) is to always store the proxies in the same folder as the project file. Since I started doing that it has happened to me. (Now if I could solve the Auto LUT bug)
