Inert the disk, then when the window pops up there is an icon to install the extra effects. Very straight forward and very easy.

Have you looked at getting Nucleo ??? It can see all memory that is installed on the machine.

I have the 3GB switch activated on my system. Whilst I have 4GB of ram installed, AE only sees 3GB. I have not seen any stability issues using the switch. I am going to be getting Nucleo very soon.

  • I found Andrew Kramer’s DVD to be excellent for this.

March 13, 2007 at 10:58 am in reply to: Pre-compose layer/keys visible in final comp?

You could open multiple comp views to see the precomp and final. Then you simply move the layers in the precomp and see the feedback from the final. You can also use guides…

    Hope I am understanding correctly.

Yes. Create a solid, add the layer mask to this solid, and then use this solid as a track matte to the layer that you are animating.

You would indeed capture at best resolution. Then bri9ng the shots into AE and in the interpret footage dialog you can tell AE to remove the 3:2 pulldown. If you edit this footage prior to bringing into AE, you may run into issues as the 3:2 order gets changed due to edits.

You would then create a 23.976 composition. You do not need magic Bullet for this. You do your edit and fx work, then render out with a 3:2 pulldown (If you are going back out to video).

    Hope this helps,

I had a project that required me to work in 6.5 again… I swore until I was blue in the face…then I swore some more. I was constantly moving windows around. I LOVE AE 7’s INTERFACE. If it means that I take a slight hit in performance, then so be it…..

It was not meant to make you feel bad…Sorry if it did 🙂

As Charlie said, for offline, then you should not be needing colour correction tools and legalization of levels. Your online editor should be taking care of this. This brings up an interseting point though, your choice of monitors. I would be more inclined to shop by price and comfort of your eyes to the screen…Since you will be offlining, true color reproduction is not all that important to you.

Are you adding any other filters to this ??? If you add filters in Liquid along with Red then your alpha does get messed up.
