What is the original file that you are using ??? If it is SD and you have it an HD comp, then it would be normal. Sorry for not being more specific, but more detail on what you have, and what you want to do with it is necessary.

It’s called layer marker, and I believe it is under the layer menu. You can then add notes to the layer marker.

Not sure, as I am not in front of AE, but don’t you have to alt or ctrl double click ??? just wondering, but usually I just open the movie in QT, not the QT player in AE…

Have you updated quicktime recently ???? Could be the culprit…. When was the last time it worked ???? you could always back up projects, then rollback to that time.

You also have to make sure that you are creating a DVD movie disc, and not a DVD data Disc…..your QT needs transoding to MPG2, then burned to a DVD to create the necessary Video_TS and Audio_TS folders. I use EncoreDVD as it allows me to skip the renering in AE and render in Encore directly to MPG2…it also allows me to create and burn my disc directly inside of Encore.

I usually highlight the layers I want to move, then (on PC), I use alt+page up or down to nudge 1 frame left or right…adding shift moves in increments of 10……sounds like a lot, but hold it down and it goes quite quickly, and also keeps time relation between the nudged layers. I also like this method when zoomed in the timeline and the layer’s tile is not visible.

I would go over to the Avid site and download the full CODEC package that they offer..it is free and it should open up your QT movies.

For Liquid files (and all video files) you definately want to intepret the fields correctly…DV based footage in NTSC land is lower, so in AE you will need to set to lower field first. When you render, you will also want to render out to lower field first if you are going to TV, or non-interlaced if you are going to a computer screen.

I would still render out to an uncompressed and let Liquid re-render….as mentionned previously I had better results using this method.
