go to view> range check and turn off excess luma etc…

From QT 7 on, Apple’s idea is that you use Compressor for exporting to MPEG 2. There’s no MPEG 2- exporter meant to be in your Quicktime.

… or if you can afford it get the Bitvice encoder by Innobit (with built in gamma correction). This one creates way better m2v-files then Compressor can.

For a real good Mpeg 2 compressor with decent gamma correction and great results (I’m a user, not involved with this company) get the BitVice Encoder here: https://www.innobits.se/
