In Final Cut Studio Apple left out the mpeg2-codec for the Quicktime player (is what support told me on the phone); the idea is one uses Compressor for this task. So you probably still have an old reference to Quicktime mpeg 2 from a former installation of Final Cut Pro on your system.

…then your sequence should play fine, without rendering. Is your sequence set to the exact same codec you captured your footage with, for example DV NTSC, 29.97 fps?

did you try a flicker filter?

Panther 10.3.9 and quicktime 7 with FCP don’t work properly. You’ll have to upgrade to Tiger or uninstall QT 7 and go back to QT 6.5.4

how did you capture your footage? as what? What are your excact sequence settings?

I managed to make one that works for my project, using “crawl” from the text generator and a cropped matte.

I always do the following: once the .mp4 is ready I open it in Quicktime player. Then I go “save as” and then “make movie self contained”. Your movie will save as a .mov and have the same size as the .mp4.
Use this .mov for streaming/ plug in in browser, it will play in any player. That’s my experience anyway, did it many times.Mantrafilm

I was wondering if it’s possible to adjust shutter speeds in the first place if you’re using the Cine Gamma mode? -
when you play back the imported footage(=when you notice it to be out sync) where does the video signal go through, and where does the audio signal go through?
