    thanks for your reactions,
I don’t think I need to use NTSC settings. Editing system presets, tapes, cameras and final broadcast media are all PAL, the standard in Europe/ Nl.
The article explains some things, but I don’t know what goes for my situation; everything’s PAL here so I’ll try with the DV PAL 24@25 or the DV PAL 24 presets. But what if, (next to mpeg 2 export) I want to print my final movie/ or sequence to DV-tape?

yes, but I encountered the same problem (audio out of sync) today while capturing and previewing from a Sony VX 1000 through firewire… never had that problem before. Checked my settings again, they were ok. Could it be a bug in OS 10.3.9????

“archive and install” is an install option indeed…. back up your data!

.. I’m working with clips in a project from a firewire disc; clips have been captured with audio and video in one file (DV Pal (I’m in Europe) compression, 25 fps,48.000 kHz, the correct way). So, the clips have timecode and there’s no “out of sync” label appearing in the timeline but it IS out of sync.
(I hope I’m still making sense here).
