“Missing Firewire Apple PAL”. Unable to capture video on Powerbook
HI All, Please help. I had recently updated my OS to 10.3.9. My quicktime is version 7. Am now unable to capture video from my mini dvcam via Firewire. Apparently the DV codec juz went missing. I’ve worked on my FCP on my powerbook without any hitches at all ever…Does anyone know how i can remedy this? Many thanks in advance! – desmond

Panther 10.3.9 and quicktime 7 with FCP don’t work properly. You’ll have to upgrade to Tiger or uninstall QT 7 and go back to QT 6.5.4

Not trying to be too dramatic.. but it worked miraculously! Even though Im on FCP 4 and not 5. And without reinstalling Quicktime too. BIG BIG THANKS!( was about to shell out dough for tiger ;P )
