    Hello,
for a client I had to do something “old fashioned” with my HVX: editing a DV-film back to DV-tape through firewire.
I used FCP, had the right settings , and the “now editing to tape” came up, playing back the material on the computer and the HVX started recording. Still, I ended up with a tape that had only gotten a lot of black and no audio. I might have the tape recorder settings wrong somewhere but I can’t find it in the manual.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Do you have to exact TC on our tape, like have the program start at 01:00:00;00? If not going a print to tape is a lot easier to do and the camera will generate the TC.

If you have to do an ETT can you list your steps. and is the timeline playing on your computer screen.

One thing to check first is in the Audio/Video Settings A/V Device tab make sure the Different for E/P TT is not checked or is set correctly. This has gotten me a couple of times.

seems like I was in “mastering mode” by mistake; when in “editing” mode it works perfect. Thanks for your reply Sacci
