I am happy this is working for you Steve!

My Vegas 18 is very stable now, the problem is more than Vegas 18 or 19.

The problem is with the support!

If you try out a program and have problems, you fill out a ticket explaining the problem with screenshots etc. Support gives you an answer that has nothing to do with your problem. You answer another 4 days a week or more goes by, you get another wrong answer, you respond then the blame game starts. Your system is at fault, another program is causing the problem etc. These are facts when I first installed Vegas 18 Pro. Finally a member on this forum figured that out, the problem was resolved by just unchecking a box in their preferences.

I didn’t learn the lesson I downloaded a trial 19 and looked like I had the same problems. I just removed the program from my computer and had to reinstall 18 again because it wouldn’t work anymore either.

My suggestion would be don’t try the new Vegas with a project you’re working on. Rename the project and open it in the new program. If everything get screwed you still have the original!

I love Vegas Pro, when it works it is a fantastic program!

Magix we don’t mind paying the money for an upgrade but give us something that works or at least when there is problem fix it!

I also have been using Vegas for a long time, I have crashed a lot, the difference is when Sony supported the program I just picked up the phone and someone would help. These days there is long wait to get an answer if you get one you’re lucky!

I owned many versions of Vegas. When I “upgrade” to Vegas 18, it crashed a lot. With the help of this forum I resolved many problems. Now, my Vegas 18 only crashes occasionally.

When I edit with Vegas 18, I keep the computer off the Internet it helps!

When they came out with Vegas 19, I downloaded the trial version because I wanted to try the new Chroma keyer that came with it.

All hell broke loose, not only it would crash a lot but my Vegas 18 wouldn’t work anymore either! I uninstalled both programs and reinstalled Vegas 18 again, I am OK with it. I am following a few forums and I see the problems are still there. I will not try Vegas 19 again until I see people resolve the problems!

I am 76 years old, time is valuable, I don’t want to spend the rest of my life uninstalling an reinstalling a program!

Try going into preferences/display and disabling High Dpi Scaling.

I just tried this to fix the same problem in my trial version of VEGAS 19, IT DIDN’T WORK! IT CRASHED THE PROGRAM A FEW TIMES. NOW THE PROGRAM IS VERY UNSTABLE, I CAN’T OPEN THE EFFECTS.

    Hello Bob,

I have the same problem. I had the same problem also with Vegas Pro a while back. The problem was resolved by one of the members in this forum. The problem if I remember is in the properties setting of the program. I will search for and let you know

    Thank you Richard,

What do you mean by filters? I am talking about VST audio effects.

I am trying to get some help from the VST effects manufacturers.

I just received an e-mail from Izotope, they say their effects may not be compatible with this version of Vegas, at least they answer promptly!

I think I will wait a little more, maybe Magix or someone will come up with an answer.

I think at the end I will end up reinstalling Vegas.

    Thank you

    Thank you Steve

After going back and forth for weeks they came up with this: see Magix response below.

It didn’t matter that I explained to them I was able to do it with Vegas 18 before. It didn’t matter if Vegas 16 is able to do it!

Now my Vegas 18 and 16 don’t refresh the VST audio effects anymore. I sent Magix a request for support a few weeks ago, I only received an e-mail telling me they received the request.

I can’t see how someone who makes video for a living deals with this kind of support!—–

    Thank you,

I downloaded and installed trial effects from other companies, the results are the same.

Maybe I’ll go back to my old Sonar and work the audio there, or work the audio in my old computer.

You don’t have any problems with the audio effects in your VST folder?

    Thank you Richard,

I thought my brain was growing soft, I was trying for days!

I am a musician and work 6 and more audio tracks, the more effects I have at my disposal the better the outcome. Soundforge is not suitable for what I do.

I also use Vegas Pro 18, it worked fine, it worked fine for a while then I think after a major Vegas “upgrade” a few things got screwed up.

Yes I am aware of the 3 VST paths. I see them in the little windows, they are correct, when I refresh I see the program scanning for effects, when it finishes they are not there in the window only Magix effects are there.

I remember the program was taking longer at start because it was looking for effects to load, now it takes much shorter time but all the audio VST effects are not there except Magix’s

I asked Magix for help almost two weeks ago, no response!

I set the computer back in time it didn’t fix the problem.

I usually use two-3 video tracks and about six audio tracks. The cam tracks get synced together with their own audio. I make copies of the audio tracks recorded on the audio recorder and sync them all together. The audio tracks from the audio recorder don’t have drop out or other problems, they become the tracks to sync to. Since I deal with projects over one hr. long, sometimes the cam tracks walk away I split them and sync again to the audio from the recorder. I use envelopes to choose what I want to see and hear. I hope this helps.

Group all the tracks together then if you split one they all will be split.
