Vegas 18
Posted by Luigi Perrotta on August 19, 2020 at 6:31 pmHello,
I just download a trial version of Vegas 18.
All my VST Audio effects don’t display properly, they are so small they can’t be used.I use Vegas pro 16 on the same computer, they work fine
I opened a ticket two weeks ago and updated the ticket a few times, still no answer.I thought I downloaded the Suite version but it appears as Vegas Pro. I was trying to see if it was worth to “upgrade” but Magix is not reliable I didn’t get an answer.
Help!

August 21, 2020 at 1:59 pmThank you Dimitrios,
It resolved the problem.
This forum gives more timely and better answers than Magix.
Yesterday, Magix answer was contact the third party company that made the effects.Vegas 18 comes with sound forge 14, I noticed sound forge has more audio effects that are not visible from Vegas 18, they are called Core FX. Any way these effects can be used from Vegas PRO?
Vegas Pro has a great way to work audio, I feel it’s a lot of work to learn Sound Forge.
I use Vegas Pro 16 do you know if there is anything that Vegas Pro 18 can do that I can’t do with vegas pro 16?
Thank you again!

August 21, 2020 at 6:42 pmYeah, Vegas Pro 18 has quite a bit more features and improvements than Vegas Pro 16, (cant get into all of them right now), thus you can be a lot more creative, accurate and faster in your edits. I actually end up dropping a few of my usual plugins as some of the new built in features are better.
Soundforge isn’t hard to learn at all, just import your audio and start poking around, in no time things start becoming clearer, (also as you hover over an effect it tells you what it is)…. But if you wanna go the other route as you mentioned, yes, Core FX can be used within Vegas Pro as a “vst Audio Plugin”, its available by itself on the website for purchase.

August 21, 2020 at 7:43 pmThank you Steve,
I am a musician, I edit music and playing around with Chroma key. I used Cakewalk and Sonar for many years, but I found it was easy to just work a project in Vegas Pro, I haven’t used Sonar for many years.
I downloaded the trial version of Vegas 18, I download the suite version to see if it was worth the extra money. Unfortunately I only see Vegas Pro 18 and not the Suite version.
I opened a ticket two weeks ago with Magix about the above problem and the Suite version, the program also crashed a few times and sent them the info.
As you can see from the answer above, Dimitri solved the problem with a simple answer. Magix pointed their finger to the PLUG-INN, I am confused, I waited two weeks for a simple answer and they couldn’t figure it out. Thanks to this Forum! I think some of you guys may know more than Magix and most of you are all willing to help!

December 16, 2020 at 11:57 pmHello Steve,
Finally I broke down and upgrade to Vegas 18, Suite.
I installed the program, but I am having problems to understand what comes with it and what doesn’t.
I followed the process of installing the add on effects etc. yet I can’t find some of the effects that I thought came with the suite version. It looks like they get mixed together with effects that don’t come with Vegas 18 suite.
In order to make this simple is there way to show only the effects that come with the program I paid for and hide all the others?
I know zynaptiq comes with this program, I see a folder under my vst effects, I see the folder in the little window when I use browser, however my vegas 18 doesn’t scan it? Anyone can help?
Thank you
Luigi
