    Hi,

Since my VST folders in Vegas Pro 14 are not refreshing, I am trying to find a way around it.

I noticed Soundforge VST folders work fine, I was trying to import my project from Vegas Pro and work the audio in it, but I am having more problems.

Can sound forge show 5-6 audio tracks all together on the screen and work them as you would in Vegas?

So far I only managed to have one track or one stereo track at the time on the screen.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Hi Luigi,

SoundForge can work with only a single (mono or stereo) audio track. A few years ago I had a project which required 4 tracks. I spent some time trying to use SoundForge – to no avail. I gave up and edited the project in Vegas with no problem. since then I have worked on multiple projects with up to 8 or so audio tracks. Vegas works great. Have you checked the Preferences VST tab? I’m on Version 18, so can’t check V.14 but I know that for the past few versions you can enter up to 3 different paths to your VST filters.

    Thank you Richard,

I thought my brain was growing soft, I was trying for days!

I am a musician and work 6 and more audio tracks, the more effects I have at my disposal the better the outcome. Soundforge is not suitable for what I do.

I also use Vegas Pro 18, it worked fine, it worked fine for a while then I think after a major Vegas “upgrade” a few things got screwed up.

Yes I am aware of the 3 VST paths. I see them in the little windows, they are correct, when I refresh I see the program scanning for effects, when it finishes they are not there in the window only Magix effects are there.

I remember the program was taking longer at start because it was looking for effects to load, now it takes much shorter time but all the audio VST effects are not there except Magix’s

I asked Magix for help almost two weeks ago, no response!

I set the computer back in time it didn’t fix the problem.

Have you tried reinstalling the missing effects? If not, try one set. Make sure to restart the computer, the see if it is found. Maybe there is something about one of the set which is preventing all effects from being found.

    Thank you,

I downloaded and installed trial effects from other companies, the results are the same.

Maybe I’ll go back to my old Sonar and work the audio there, or work the audio in my old computer.

You don’t have any problems with the audio effects in your VST folder?

    Hi Luigi,

Sonar is good – I have been using that for years, but I like the filters available for Vegas and I use Vegas a lot more that all other A/V programs, so there is less “remembering” time for Vegas. I don’t have any problems using the VST filters on Vegas. I have been using Version 18.0 from when it was released – generally without any problems. I’ve been using the VST filters from when they started supporting them. I guess one last think to try would be to reinstall Vegas – which I know is a real pain. One quick question – did your VST filters ever work on this install/computer? Are you close to the minimum memory limit for Vegas? That might cause a problem.

    Thank you Richard,

What do you mean by filters? I am talking about VST audio effects.

I am trying to get some help from the VST effects manufacturers.

I just received an e-mail from Izotope, they say their effects may not be compatible with this version of Vegas, at least they answer promptly!

I think I will wait a little more, maybe Magix or someone will come up with an answer.

I think at the end I will end up reinstalling Vegas.

    Thank you
