Hi,

The codec is not tied to the card but it’s not possible to capture and transcode on the fly during a firewire capture.

Hi Paul,

720p24 is supported as part of the Varicam format. It will also output at 720p60 (59.94) which is what we capture with. We can then extract the varicam flags to get the 720p24 data.

Hi,

Have a look in the “Processing” tab in System Preferences > DeckLink. The option is in the “Output Processing” option.

Hi,

The DeckLink and Multibridge products provide a video desktop output option. However, this is not the same as a dedicated graphics card. When you start Color, it polls the graphic devices to ensure that you are running a supported graphics card. Since our video desktop output is technically not an OpenGL device, Color will not run and reports an error. This is why you have to disable the video desktop output. However, doing so will not have an affect with monitoring while in Color as our hardware will still be used.

Hi Pekin,

Yes, you can probably get away with using the internal drives raided together. Some users do that with 3 additional drives in the Mac Pro. This will be handy for capture and playback but the number of streams you will be able to playback simultaneously will be limited.
