Hi Eli,

We currently don’t support timecodes with FrameLink which is why the timecode from the DPXes do not tranfer over to the Quicktime
movie.

When reopen the Quicktime movie that was previous created from a bunch of DPXes, you’re essentially creating a new FrameLink volume which is why the DPXes start from 0000. There is no link between the Quicktime movie and your original DPXes once you’ve ejected the volume. There no way to keep the names of the DPXes permanently.

Hi Dave,

If it’s a G5 with PCI-X slots, then it will work fine.

Some of the G5s have PCI slots (not PCI-X). These will not work.

One quick way to tell is to look at the number of memory slots in the machine. If there are 4, the Mac has PCI slots and will not be compatible. If there are 8 RAM slot, it will work.

Hi,

This is the output of the Multibridge Pro acting as a 3rd display. You can turn it off in the DeckLink preferences under the “Enable Video Desktop” option.

Nope. I’m referring to MJPEG which can be used for both SD and HD compression. This is a full raster (1920×1080) codec.

Hi Neil,

The clips have been rendered to the Blackmagic 10-bit (DV10) codec. This is a legacy codec for Digital Voodoo support and is no longer included with the drivers as they are no longer in use.

You’ll need to use the v5.7.2 driver which is the last installer to include to the DV10 codecs. I would recommend you render to the Blackmagic 10-bit codecs (not 10-bit (DV10)) codecs in the future.

What kind of monitor are you referring on? Are they on underscan mode?

Is the black lines visiable in the Quicktime clips?

The size of the captured files will depend on the codecs you’ve used.

Uncompressed will be about 104 MB/sec for 720p and about 94 MB/sec for 1080i50.

If you’re looking at 14 MB/sec, then it’s probably going to be MJPEG which is a compressed format.

Hi Ian,

Make sure you use the top slot in the Mac Pro. Upon installation, the Expansion Slot Utility should pop up when you stat up the Mac. This allows you to configure the lanes of the PCI Express slot. We’ve seen instances where that does not happen so launch “Expansion Slot Utility” located in “/System/Library/CoreServices” and select profile number 2.
