I’m having a problem with two black lines; one about 25% from the top & the other 25% from the bottom occupy my playback/edit to tape. I see them in both of the HD SDI outputs and the component output. I work in 1080 23.98 10bit. Testing other framerates & codecs did not relieve the problem in HD. The problem doesn’t exist in SD NTSC. Capturing in HD is fine. Doesn’t slowly appear as the HD Link user’s thread below describes. I haven’t worked in HD in a few weeks so I can’t put my finger on this appearing with an OS or FCS update.

Mac Pro 2 x 2.66 dual core Xeon
    Decklink Extreme
    Tried DeckLink_Macintosh_6.2 and now 6.4.
    OSX 10.4.10
    FCP 6.0.1

    Hi,

What kind of monitor are you referring on? Are they on underscan mode?

Is the black lines visiable in the Quicktime clips?

    regards

I tried it on a Sony PVM, a BVM & a Panasonic Pro LCD. I did an HD layback to a D5 tape as well.
Lines are not on the Quicktime files. Even files captured with this card.
    Underscan & overscan.
Lines appear on desktop output & After Effects video output as well.

    thanks.

Ignore me. the Decklink Extreme has no problems.

I realized that when I switch between underscan & overscan the lines stay in the same place on the monitor & not on the footage. We’re now recreating the problem on multiple CRTs from different source material (without the Decklink card) but the problem is not visible on the Pro LCDs in-house.
If we figure out the problem I’ll update one day but for now the Decklink Extreme is rock solid.
